Are you planning on purchasing 1-day Magic Kingdom tickets for a short trip to Disney World?
The parades, the castle, and the Instagrammable food are probably what you’re dreaming about (it’s certainly what I dream about when I’m planning a Disney trip).
But in order to make those dreams your reality, you will need 1-day Magic Kingdom tickets.
Which are not exactly cheap. Not in the slightest.
But there are cheaper times of the year and ways to save money, which I will be discussing today.
This post is all about the insane prices of 1-day Magic Kingdom tickets.

1-day tickets at Magic Kingdom fluctuate depending on the day (and season), so the pricing structure isn’t overly straightforward.
In 2024, 1-day Magic Kingdom tickets cost $124 – $189 + tax (though knowing Disney, we will probably see price increases in the not-too-distant future).
These tickets only allow you to enter one park on your Disney World day trip.
If you would like to visit another park on your Disney World day trip (other than Magic Kingdom), then you would need to purchase the Park Hopper add-on.

For Park Hopper tickets, you can expect to pay an additional $65-$85 + tax per ticket. This would allow you to park hop to Epcot, Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom after 2 PM.
The “superior” Park Hopper add-on grants you access to the water parks (Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach). Unfortunately, this will cost you an additional $85-$105 + tax per ticket, so it probably won’t be worth it for most guests – especially if you’re only spending one day at Disney World.

The Cheapest Days To Visit Magic Kingdom
The cheapest days (2024) to visit Magic Kingdom (to secure a $129 ticket) are:
- January 2024: No $129 days
- February 2024: No $129 days
- March 2024: No $129 days
- April 2024: No $129 days
- May 2024: No $129 days
- June 2024: No $129 days

- October 2024: No $129 days
- November 2024: No $129 days
- December 2024: No $129 days
As you can see by the lack of green dates, it’s rare to purchase 1-day Magic Kingdom tickets for under $130.
And if you do, you will be visiting during hurricane season, so prepare for storms, humidity (and perhaps even a hurricane).
On some of these days, there might be Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween parties, which would mean you have to leave the parks at 6 PM.
In 2023, there are Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween parties on all of the cheapest days – which may make them worse value than some of the more expensive days.
If you choose to add on a Halloween party ticket for the evening, it will cost an additional $99-$139 for adults and $89-$129 for kids (ages 3-9).

The weather conditions are far more bearable than in August and September, but the crowds will be higher.
I spent last Thanksgiving at Magic Kingdom, and the crowds were high but not awful. But, if you visit on Thanksgiving, don’t expect to go on every ride and attraction (especially without Genie+).
