Whether you’re traveling with kids, on a budget, or looking for a luxury escape, there’s a Disney World Resort perfect for you.
In total, there are over 25 Disney World Resorts, divided into four main categories: Value, Moderate, Deluxe, and Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resorts.
Let’s take a closer look at these categories and what they offer.
Value Resorts
Value resorts are perfect for families and budget-conscious travelers who want all the Disney theming and on-site perks without the hefty price tag.
These resorts are vibrant and fun, often themed with larger-than-life Disney characters and designs.
Moderate Resorts
If you’re looking for something a bit more upscale but still reasonably priced (by Disney standards), Moderate resorts are perfect.
These resorts offer more amenities and are often more spacious and quieter than their Value counterparts.
From table-service restaurants (at all Moderate Resorts except Port Orleans – French Quarter) to Fitness Centers at Coronado Springs, these hotels feel like a step up from Value Resorts.
Deluxe Resorts
Deluxe resorts are the crème de la crème of Disney World accommodations.
These resorts provide luxury, convenience, and often easier access to the parks.
They are perfect for those looking to indulge in premium experiences.
Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Resorts
DVC Resorts are perfect for longer stays or for those who prefer home-like amenities, such as kitchenettes and extra living space.
You don’t have to be a DVC member to book a stay here, but membership comes with its own perks.

Choosing the Right Resort for You
Choosing the right Disney World Resort can make a huge difference in your vacation experience.
Here are some key considerations that will help you make the best choice for your stay.
Family Size and Needs
Your family’s size and specific needs are important factors when choosing a Disney World Resort. Here are some tips depending on your group size and preferences:
- Small Families or Couples: For smaller groups, most resort categories and room types will suit your needs.
- Large Families or Multiple Families: If you’re traveling with a larger group, consider resorts that offer family suites or connected rooms. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s All-Star Music Resort offer spacious family suites. For more luxury, most DVC resorts provide options for multi-bedroom villas.
Proximity to Parks
The distance between your resort and the theme parks can significantly impact your daily plans and convenience:
- Magic Kingdom Proximity: If being near Magic Kingdom is essential, consider staying at resorts on the Monorail loop. These resorts offer quick and convenient transportation to the park, allowing you to easily return for naps or breaks.
- Epcot and Hollywood Studios Proximity: The BoardWalk and Skyliner Resorts provide very easy access to these two parks.
- Animal Kingdom Proximity: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is a perfect fit if you want to be close to Animal Kingdom. The savanna views and African theming offer a unique experience that enhances your visit to the park. Coronado Springs and the All-Star Resorts are also in this area.
Making the right choice among Disney World Resorts involves considering your budget, family needs, proximity to parks, and desired amenities.
By taking these factors into account, you can ensure a magical and comfortable stay that perfectly suits your vacation dreams.
