If you’re dreaming of an enchanting escape to the sun-soaked shores of the Caribbean, look no further than Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort at Walt Disney World.

DISNEY WORLD CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT

This vibrant resort offers a tropical paradise like no other, where the magic of Disney meets the beauty of the Caribbean.

So, step into a realm of sun-drenched shores, swaying palm trees, and Caribbean charm as we invite you to discover the enchanting oasis of Caribbean Beach Resort at Disney World.

This post is all about the 7 captivating reasons why you should experience tropical bliss at the Caribbean Beach Resort at Disney World.

Why You Should Stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort at Disney World

1. They have a lot of pools (& you may be able to see fireworks while you’re swimming!)

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort has 6 swimming pools.

Their feature pool is the Fuentes del Morro Pool. This has pirate theming and two water slides, making it one of the best swimming pools in Disney World for kids.

In addition to their impressive feature pool, there are 5 leisure pools – for a calmer, less chaotic experience.

Sure, Caribbean Beach is a HUGE resort, so these pools may get busier throughout the day – but not to the extent of the Fuentes del Morro Pool.

Regardless of what you’re looking for, there will be a Disney Caribbean Beach Resort pool for you!

Please note that between January 2024 and April 2024, the Fuentes del Morro Pool will be closed for maintenance.

2. The beautiful, vibrant theming

When you’re staying at the Disney World Caribbean Beach Resort, you are immersed in a captivating world of colour and culture. The beautiful, bright theming transports you to the heart of the Caribbean

Each village within the resort is named after a different Caribbean island, and the unique and bold theming of each village reflects the distinct characteristics of its namesake.

The five islands include:

  1. Aruba
  2. Barbados
  3. Jamaica
  4. Martinique
  5. Trinidad

Relax on the sandy “beach”, where swaying palm trees and lush greenery create a sense of tranquility and escape. The inviting hammocks and cosy lounging areas offer the perfect spots to unwind and soak up the Caribbean sun.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort truly is the most “vacation-y” feeling Moderate Resort 🏝️🌺✨

3. The choice of room styles & types

I’m not going to sit here and pretend that every room at Caribbean Beach is amazing. It’s not.

Most of them look like they’re full of tired furniture from the 1990s.

Caribbean Beach Resort opened in 1988, and was the first Disney World Moderate Resort. And based on the state of most of the rooms, you can tell.

Sure, they’ve gone through refurbishments, but that’s not super apparent.

But, the rooms are slowly but surely improving! Since the closure of the Pirate Rooms (which genuinely is a sad loss), the replacement is superb.

The Little Mermaid rooms are bright and modern. They are much more sophisticated than the Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation.

In addition, to this, there are various room types:

  • Standard View – sleeps up to 4 guests – with resort, courtyard and woodlands views.
  • Standard View – 5th Sleeper – as the name suggests, this room sleeps 5, but it more comfortably sleeps 4 adults and 1 child. This room category also has resort, courtyard and woodlands views.
  • Water or Pool View – sleeps up to 4 guests – with lake and pool views. (It baffles me that people would actually pay more for their room to be right by a pool – with all the noise – but a lake view is pretty. That being said, you don’t have a balcony, so unless you spend a lot of time looking at your window, it’s not worth it).
  • Water or Pool View – 5th Sleeper: the same as a regular Water or Pool View room, but sleeps 5 guests.
  • King Bed – sleeps up to 2 guests – with resort, water/pool, courtyard and woodlands views.
  • Preferred Room – sleeps 4 guests – with resort, courtyard and woodlands views. What you’re paying for is the proximity to Old Port Royale (but not necessarily a Skyliner Station). Preferred rooms can be found in Barbados and Martinique.

Prices of different room types at Caribbean Beach Resort (based on 2024 prices):

  • Standard View – $268 – $505
  • Standard View – 5th Sleeper – $288 – $522
  • Water or Pool View – $307 – $543
  • Water or Pool View – 5th Sleeper – $325 – $558
  • King Bed – $314 – $552
  • Preferred Room – $368 – $582

4. Caribbean Beach is a HUGE resort with a superb running (or walking) trail

We all know that Caribbean Beach Resort is colossal. After all, this is an overlapping theme with most Moderate Resorts (excluding Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter).

But despite internal bus services and busy areas of the resort, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

The grounds of Caribbean Beach are exquisite, making it perfect for the 1.25-mile running/strolling trail with great views of Barefoot Bay.

If you want to explore this resort (and the heat and humidity aren’t too insane), this is a great way to explore the resort and get some exercise in (as if you don’t walk enough already at Disney World 😂)

5. Caribbean Beach is the only Moderate Resort on the Skyliner

Perhaps the biggest USP of the Disney World Caribbean Beach Resort is the Skyliner!

This delightful transportation system offers guests a whimsical and efficient way to travel to two of Disney’s iconic theme parks: Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Step aboard the colourful gondolas of the Disney Skyliner, and you’ll find yourself whisked away on an aerial adventure that provides breathtaking views of the resort and its surroundings.

The gondolas glide gracefully above the palm trees, granting you bird’s-eye vistas of the shimmering lakes and lush landscapes that define Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.

Whether you’re starting your day with the sunrise from the gondola or ending it with a dazzling view of the resort’s illuminated splendour, the Disney Skyliner at Caribbean Beach Resort adds a layer of enchantment to your vacation like no other.

It feels like the first and last attraction of your Disney day!

So, hop aboard, and let the Disney Skyliner carry you on a sky-high adventure, whisking you away to the wonders that await at Walt Disney World! 🚡🌴✨

6. Caribbean Beach Resort at Disney World is within walking distance of Disney’s Riviera Resort

Speaking of resorts on the Skyliner, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is right next to Disney’s Riviera Resort – the newest Deluxe DVC Resort.

This allows you to explore their dining options, the contrasting European theming, and most importantly, the small but well-stocked gift shop!

7. There is a plethora of different dining locations at Caribbean Beach

Like any good Disney Resort, Caribbean Beach has a variety of dining options at different price ranges.

From delectable island-inspired dishes to family-friendly options and tropical beverages, Caribbean Beach Resort at Disney World has it all!

Here are the dining locations at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort:

  • Centertown Market: A bustling, quick-service food court that captures the vibrant energy of a Caribbean market, Centertown Market is the resort’s primary dining location. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this eatery features diverse food stations offering an array of enticing options. It’s nothing too special, but it’s a solid Disney Resort food court – with meals under $14.99.

  • Sebastian’s Bistro: Looking for a slightly “upmarket” dining option? For a more refined dining experience, venture to Sebastian’s Bistro. It’s an inviting table-service restaurant that celebrates the flavours of the Caribbean. Indulge in tantalizing seafood dishes, delectable steaks, and delightful island-inspired desserts at this casual, family-style dining location. The charming waterfront setting and vibrant atmosphere make Sebastian’s Bistro a memorable spot for a special dinner or a celebration. But expect this to set you back up to $35 per adult (and $19 per child, aged 3-9). Sadly, this doesn’t include tax or gratuity.

  • Spyglass Grill: This quick service with a walk-up counter is located in the Trinidad pool area. Spyglass Grill offers a laid-back and relaxing dining experience with a touch of Caribbean flair. The casual atmosphere and mouthwatering menu make Spyglass Grill an ideal spot for a quick, efficient and satisfying meal.

  • Banana Cabana Pool Bar: Adjacent to the Fuentes del Morro Pool, the Banana Cabana Pool Bar is an inviting oasis that beckons you to kick back and relax. The tropical-inspired menu boasts an array of refreshing cocktails, specialty beverages, and delicious snacks. Sip on a refreshing drink and bask in the warm Florida sun (unless it’s the testing Summer season). Doesn’t that sound like a pretty great way to unwind after a chaotic day in the parks? The prices are on-par with your average quick service (under $14.99).
