Trying to find the cheapest DVC room at Disney World (and Disneyland)?
If youâve ever resort hopped at Disney, you have probably visited a Deluxe Resort.
If youâve never stayed at a Deluxe Resort, I bet this has made you interested in staying there.
It certainly did for me back in 2019. However, when I saw the Deluxe resort room rates, it seemed like more of a dream that I wouldnât experience for many years.
Since then, I started renting DVC points and have become a DVC member, making staying in Deluxe Resorts more attainable.
But some DVC resorts are more expensive than others to stay at (whether youâre a DVC member or not).
So, in this post, weâre going to break down the cheapest rooms you can find at Deluxe DVC resorts.
If you want your points to go further, or you donât want to spend as much money when youâre renting DVC points, keep reading!
This post is all about helping you find the cheapest DVC room at Disney World (and Disneyland).Â
Cheapest DVC Room
Understanding DVC (Disney Vacation Club)
When planning a Disney vacation, the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) offers a unique way to experience everything magical that the parks have to offer.Â
DVC is essentially Disneyâs version of a timeshare program, specifically designed to give members access to beautiful deluxe accommodations at Disney World, Disneyland, and other locations.
Please note that you do not have to be a DVC member to stay at any of these Disney Vaction Club resorts.
Non-DVC members can stay at these resorts by:
- Booking through your Disney travel agent
- Booking directly through Disney
But how does this system work, and why might you choose it for your next trip? Letâs dive into the details.
What are DVC Rooms?
DVC rooms are a range of accommodations designed with comfort and flexibility in mind. They are part of deluxe resorts and come in several types:
- Tower/Duo Studios: We have only seen these in a few resorts (that have opened since 2019). These are very small studios for up to two people. You donât even have a regular bed (itâs a Murphy bed).
- Studios: These are great for small families or couples. Studios usually feature a queen bed, a Murphy bed or a pull-out sofa, and a kitchenette. Think of them as slightly larger hotel rooms with a little extra space for relaxation.
- One-Bedroom Villas: Perfect for families who want more space, these villas offer a separate bedroom, a living room area with a sleeper sofa, a full kitchen, and a washer/dryer. Itâs like staying in a small apartment, giving you more room to stretch out after a long day in the parks. They usually sleep 4-5 guests.
- Two-Bedroom Villas: These are ideal for extended families or groups of friends. They include all the amenities of the one-bedroom villas but with an additional bedroom and bathroom. Youâll have plenty of space to share, making it feel like a home away from home. They usually sleep 8-9 guests.
- Three-Bedroom Grand Villas: Want the biggest rooms for lots of guests? Grand Villas have everything you would need (usually for up to 12 people but you should check this at the time of booking). From huge living areas and bedrooms to multiple bathrooms (and often having two different floors), they are magnificent.
There are also four unique offerings at Disney World DVC resorts:
- Treehouses at Disneyâs Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa (more on this later).
- Two-Bedroom Bungalows at Disneyâs Polynesian Villas & Bungalows (these are VERY expensive, so we wonât be talking about these in detail today!).
- Two-Bedroom Cabins at Copper Creek (these cabins are cheaper than the Polynesian bungalows, but theyâre still crazy expensive, so we wonât be diving into this today).
- One-Bedroom Cabins at Disneyâs Fort Wilderness (more on this later)
Rooms at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas
This is one of Disney’s most popular DVC resorts for a two main reasons:
- You can walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
- It is one of the cheapest DVC resorts to stay at!
The ultimate value is in the Standard View Deluxe Studios and Villas.
Here is a range of how much the Standard View accommodations cost at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas (in 2025):
- Deluxe Studio (sleeps up to 5 guests):Â 9 – 24 points per night.
- One-Bedroom Villa (sleeps up to 4 guests):Â 19 – 48 points per night.
- Two-Bedroom Villa (sleeps up to 9 guests):Â 29 – 67 points per night.
If you’re a DVC member who does not have a BoardWalk contract, please keep in mind that it’s very difficult to book Standard View Studios and Villas at 7 months out.
(Not impossible, but challenging).
If you are renting points 11 months out, you may have a better chance at booking one of these rooms.
However, due to the price, resort and location, it can be competitive to book them!
These rooms have also been recently refurbished, making it an even better deal!
Rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas
Animal Kingdom is a great resort, because:
- IT HAS A SAVANNA.
- Great dining.
- It’s heavily themed (as if the hotel is actually in Africa!).
Savanna View rooms are excellent here. However, if you’re looking for the best value, these can be found in Value and Standard accommodations.

Here is the point range for these rooms (for 2025):
- Value Deluxe Studio (sleeps up to 4 guests): 7 – 17 points per night.
- Standard View Deluxe Studio (sleeps up to 4 guests): 10 – 23 points per night.
- Value One-Bedroom Villa (sleep up to 4 guests): 17 – 35 points per night.
- Standard View One-Bedroom Villa (sleeps up to 5 guests): 20 – 45 points per night.
- Value Two-Bedroom Villa (sleeps up to 8 guests): 22 – 48 points per night.
- Standard View Two-Bedroom Villa (sleeps up to 9 guests): 28 – 6o points per night.
- Standard View Three-Bedroom Grand Villa (sleeps up to 12 guests): 68 – 135 points per night.
Please note that it’s *really* hard to book Value accommodations. Even if you own at Animal Kingdom Villas, it can be challenging (especially if you’re trying to book a Studio).

I see confirmed reservations for one night in a Value Studio relatively often, though (I’ve seen this on David’s Vacation Rentals and DVC Shop Rentals).
Please also note that Value accommodations are smaller than usual Deluxe Studios and Villas (hence why you’ll tend to find they’re the cheapest DVC 1 bedroom and cheapest DVC 2 bedroom villas).
Also, the main disadvantage of staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge is that it’s quite far from every park – apart from Animal Kingdom. And, you have to take a bus *everywhere*.
Rooms at Disney’s Old Key West Resort
Old Key West is the first Disney Vacation Club resort, and is best known for:
- Being the cheapest DVC resort (a lot of the time)!
- Having some of the largest DVC rooms.
- Being just a boat ride away from Disney Springs.

Here is the point range for these Old Key West rooms (in 2025)
- Deluxe Studios (sleeps up to 4 guests): 9 – 26 points per night.
- One-Bedroom Villas (sleeps up to 5 guests): 20 – 50 points per night.
- Two-Bedroom Villas (sleeps up to 9 guests): 27 – 65 points per night.
- Three-Bedroom Grand Villas (sleeps up to 12 guests): 46 – 106 points per night.
The great thing about Old Key West is that you don’t pay any more for the preferred rooms (known as ‘Near Hospitality House’ studios/villas).

Rooms at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
Another well-known affordable DVC Resort is Saratoga Springs.
Here are the main reasons why a lot of guests choose to stay here:
- Although it tends to be more expensive than Old Key West, it is still on the less expensive side.
- You can walk easily to Disney Springs.
- It’s the biggest DVC resort (which is bad if you don’t want to walk a lot), but there is *a lot* of availability here.

Whilst the preferred accommodations aren’t amazing value, the standard options can be.
Point range for these Saratoga Springs rooms (in 2025):
- Standard Deluxe Studio (sleeps up to 4 guests): 9 – 25 points per night.
- Standard One-Bedroom Villas (sleeps up to 5 guests): 21 – 47 points per night.
- Standard Two-Bedroom Villas (sleeps up to 9 guests): 27 – 63 points per night.
- Standard Three-Bedroom Grand Villas (sleeps up to 12 guests): 63 – 127 points per night.

The Beauty of Duo/Tower Studios
As mentioned earlier, these Studios sleep just 2 guests and have a Murphy bed instead of a regular bed.
But if you want to stay at one of the premium resorts without splurging on a Deluxe Studio, these can be great (for one or two guests).
The Point Range of Tower Studios at Disney’s Riviera Resort:
Tower Studios at Riviera cost between 10 and 27 points per night (based on the 2025 points chart).
The Point Range of Standard View Duo Studios at Disney’s Polynesian Villas:
Standard View Duo Studios at the Polynesian cost 12 – 30 points per night (based on the 2025 points chart).
There are also Preferred and Premium views, but they are less affordable.
The Point Range of Duo Studios at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel
They cost between 10 – 25 points per night (based on the 2025 points chart).
You can get preferred views here, but they are more expensive.
These are the cheapest Studios at Disneyland.
But don’t forget that you have to pay transient tax per night for studios and villas here ($28.69 – $71.72 per night).
You don’t have to pay transient tax separately for any accommodations at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa (this is included in annual dues for members with contract(s) here.
If you’re looking for a Deluxe Studio or a Villa, it’s worth looking at both the Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian (accounting for transient tax), to see which is cheaper.
At first glance, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel are cheaper, but the transient tax can make a difference in the savings between these hotels.
Frequently Asked Questions about Finding the Cheapest DVC Room
Do DVC point charts vary throughout the year?
Yes, point charts fluctuate depending on the season. Peak times like holidays require more points, while off-peak times are less costly. Check the DVC point charts annually for the most accurate information.
How can I book the cheapest DVC rooms if I’m not a member?
If you’re not a DVC member, you can book through rental services like Davidâs Vacation Club Rentals, DVC Rental Store or DVC Shop. These platforms connect you with DVC members looking to rent out their points, often leading to significant savings.

Is it cheaper to book DVC rooms directly through Disney or through point rentals?
Booking through point rentals is typically less expensive.
Renting points from a DVC member usually offers greater savings compared to booking directly through Disney at the standard rate.
You can always check for current discounts when booking through a travel agent or through Disney though.
Are weekend stays more expensive in DVC rooms?
Yes, weekends usually cost more points than weekday stays.
If youâre looking to save, try to plan your trip during the week to maximize your point usage efficiently (if possible).
Can I save money by booking DVC rooms last-minute?
Sometimes, but itâs risky. Last-minute deals can occur if a DVC member needs to rent points quickly. However, availability is limited and not guaranteed.
If you are a DVC member and booking with your own points, it will be no cheaper to book last minute.
Are there any additional fees when staying in a DVC room?
Staying in a DVC room generally doesn’t incur extra fees beyond the cost of points.
However, transient tax will be added if you stay at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel or Aulani.
This can impact the final cost of these “cheapest DVC room types”.
Are studios the cheapest DVC room type?
Yes, studio rooms are typically the most affordable DVC option.
They have less amenities than villas, but if you don’t need a full kitchen and lounge area, they are your best – and least expensive – option!
