Donald Duck recently found out that some of his ancient ancestors were dinosaurs! So, now it’s time to celebrate with Donald, Daisy and even Chip ‘n’ Dale.

3. Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!

Location: DinoLand U.S.A.

Dive into an ocean of enchantment and join your favourite underwater friends in “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!”

This delightful musical stage show, located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, brings the heartwarming and adventurous tale of Nemo, Marlin, and Dory to life like never before.

Depending on your opinions on puppetry, you’ll either love (or be scared of) this show. In my opinion, it’s about as polarising as “it’s a small world” (but FAR creepier).

That being said, it’s worth watching. The music and storyline in this 25-minute show is still amazing ๐Ÿ

4. It’s Tough to be a Bug!

Location: Discovery Island

This entertaining 3D show, inspired by Disney-Pixar’s “A Bug’s Life,” invites guests of all ages to embark on a delightful adventure from the perspective of insects.

Whether you’re seeking a delightful break from your adventures in the park or looking to experience the world through the eyes of tiny critters, this whimsical show promises an unforgettable journey that will leave you buzzing with delight.

So, put on your bug-eye glasses and prepare to explore the incredible world of “It’s Tough to be a Bug!” ๐Ÿœ๐ŸŒฟ

5. Harambe Village Acrobats

Travel to Africa at Animal Kingdom to enjoy the sound of upbeat drums and be amazed by the unbelievable group of acrobats.

During this 30-minute show, you are invited to a Caribbean street party – with exciting and vibrant music.

7. Wilderness Explorers

Do you want to be just like Russel from Up (the infamous Disney Pixar movie)?

If you take part in this series of challenges, you can collect over 25 badges, and become the ultimate explorer! This is also a fun way to learn about Animal Kingdom Park.

Complete Guide to Thrill Rides at Animal Kingdom

1. Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain

Height Restriction: 44in (112cm) or taller

Highlights: Thrill ride, small drops, big, mythic Yeti!

Location: Asia

Prepare for a thrilling expedition to Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Expedition Everest is a heart-pounding roller coaster adventure that takes daring explorers on a quest to encounter the legendary Yeti.

Spoiler alert: the Yeti may not be thrilled to see you.

Another spoiler alert: there’s a really fun surprise on this ride (don’t worry, I won’t spoil it for you, in case you’d prefer the surprise).

I would confidently say that this is one of the best Disney Animal Kingdom attractions for thrill-seekers.

2. Avatar Flight of Passage

Height Restriction: 44in (112cm) +

Highlights: 3D flying simulator

Location:ย Pandora

If you’re a fan of Avatar, you’ll enjoy the concept of this attraction: flying a banshee through Pandora.

If you’re not a fan of Avatar, you’ll probably still enjoy it. I’m not a fan of the film, but it’s an innovative, impressive simulator ride – which is quite breathtaking.

This really isn’t a dark, scary ride, but it could be triggering if you suffer from motion sickness.

3. DINOSAUR

Height Restriction: 40in (102cm) +

Highlights: Thrill rides, small drops, dark, DINOSAURS!

Location: DinoLand U.S.A.

Prepare to go back in time on a thrilling adventure to the age of dinosaurs with DINOSAUR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! This dark ride takes brave explorers on a daring mission to rescue a dinosaur before the catastrophic meteor impact.

Join the Dino Institute team as you board the Time Rover, a high-tech vehicle designed to transport you to the prehistoric era. As you journey through the dark and treacherous landscape, you’ll encounter some of the most fearsome dinosaurs that once roamed the Earth.

But beware, the meteor is fast approaching, so there’s no time to waste. Get ready for a perilous journey to the age of dinosaurs and face the challenges that await on DINOSAUR. Hold on tight as you encounter these majestic creatures and race against time to ensure a safe return to the present! ๐Ÿฆ•๐ŸŒ‹๐Ÿฆ–

4. Kali River Rapids

Height Restriction: 38in (97cm) +

Highlights: Water rides, small drops and A LITTLE spinning

Location: Asia

Get ready to embark on a wild and watery escapade with Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! This river rafting adventure takes you on a journey through the lush rainforests of Asia.

The Kali River Rapids even has an exciting 20-foot slope. Is it as exciting or thrilling as Splash Mountain (soon-to-be ‘Tiana’s Bayou Adventure’)? No. It’s not. But it’s decent enough.

You probably won’t get soaked (it’s nothing like ‘Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges‘ ride at Universal Studios Orlando).

But for water-loving adventurers seeking a refreshing break from the heat, Kali River Rapids is an absolute must-do at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

So, embrace the thrill and prepare to get wet as you journey through the untamed waters of Kali River Rapids! ๐ŸŒŠ

Complete Guide to Slow Rides at Animal Kingdom

1. Na’vi River Journey

Height Restriction: Any height

Highlights: Slow, pretty boat rideย

Location: Pandora

Embark on a mesmerizing and enchanting adventure through the radiant rainforest of Pandora with Na’vi River Journey at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

This serene boat ride takes you on a tranquil voyage down a mystical river, offering a rare glimpse into the heart of the breathtaking world of Pandora.

Is the blue creature weird? Yes. Is that because I’ve only watched twenty minutes of Avatar, because I got bored? Absolutely.

That being said, Na’vi River Journey is a stunning visual masterpiece and is a gorgeous attraction.

For those seeking a peaceful and enchanting experience, Na’vi River Journey is a must-see at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. So, step aboard and let the Na’vi River Journey transport you to a realm of magic and serenity like no other. โœจ

2. TriceraTop Spin

Height Restriction: Any height

Highlights: Classic, slow, spinning ride

Location: DinoLand U.S.A.

This is one of the least exciting rides at Animal Kingdom. It is kind of a “knock-off” of Dumbo The Flying Elephant at Magic Kingdom (and other slow, spinning rides).

That being said, if you have younger children, it’s cute and fits the theme of DinoLand U.S.A. perfectly.

3. Kilimanjaro Safaris

Height Restriction: Any height

Highlights: Real-life safari with over 30 species of animals!

Location: Africa

This exhilarating expedition takes you on a thrilling journey through the sprawling savanna of Africa, where you’ll encounter an incredible array of exotic wildlife in their natural habitats.

Board an open-air safari vehicle and set off on a guided tour led by experienced and knowledgeable safari guides.

This is arguably the most unique attraction at Animal Kingdom, as there are REAL animals, meaning that every time you ride this attraction, you’ll have a different experience. For example, I went on this attraction last year, and some giraffes decided to hang out in front of the vehicle, so there was a temporary delay. So, there are still technical difficulties; just caused by real animals! ๐Ÿฆ’๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ“

4. Wildlife Express Train

Height Restriction: Any height

Highlights: Slow ride on a train to see animals

Location: Africa

The Wildlife Express train provides a fascinating behind-the-scenes adventure into the heart of the Animal Kingdom’s conservation efforts!

This scenic, 7-minute journey takes you on a leisurely ride through lush landscapes, providing a unique glimpse into the world of animal care and wildlife preservation.

It’s not as exciting as Expedition Everest, but if you want to escape the chaos and find some tranquility, The Wildlife Express is a good option.
