Are you dreaming of a relaxing Disney World adults only trip? Today, we’re going to discuss how you can make that dream a reality!
Many people consider Disney World a vacation destination for kids and young families, but Disney World caters well to all ages.
Since taking regular Walt Disney World adults only trips, I have learned these 7 helpful tips that can help you enjoy a relaxing Disney trip!
This post is all about the 7 genius tips for planning an enjoyable and relaxing Disney World adults only trip.
Tips for a Disney World Adults Only Trip
Can adults go to Disney World?
Yes, Disney World is an age-inclusive place! And there are plenty of attractions that appeal primarily – or just – to adults.
Is there a Disney World Adults Only Hotel?
At the moment, there are no Disney Resorts for adults only – and it doesn’t appear that this will change anytime soon.
That being said, let’s talk about some of the best Disney World Resorts for adults to stay at!
1) Book an On-Site Disney World Resort
When planning your adults-only trip to Disney World, booking an on-site Disney World resort is one of the best decisions you can make.
Contrary to popular belief, staying on-site can often be as affordable, if not cheaper, than staying off-site.
One of the main perks is the complimentary transportation to and from the parks. This means you won’t need to worry about shelling out extra cash for Uber or Lyft rides or the hassle of renting a car.
With “complimentary” bus, Monorail, Skyliner and boat transportation options, getting around the resort is pretty straightforward (with the exception of some delays. This doesn’t happen all the time, but they can every so often).

2) Consider taking a Behind-The-Scenes Disney World Tour
Want to learn more about Disney World? Why not take a behind-the-scenes tour?!
I took the Keys to the Kingdom Tour in 2023.
This is a 5-hour tour at Magic Kingdom, which is so informative and fun.
I highly recommend the Keys to the Kingdom Tour if you want to learn how the park operates and its fascinating history.
(You must be 16+ to take this tour, so it is perfect for Disney World adults only trips!)

There are also plenty of other incredible tours at Disney World, such as:
- Behind the Seeds (at Living With The Land at EPCOT)
- Starlight Safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
- & more!
3) Don’t overlook attractions you may not have found interesting in the distant past
When planning an adults-only trip to Disney World, remember not to overlook attractions you may have dismissed if you had visited as a child.
Yes, even at a place as popular as Walt Disney World, there’s a whole world of hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Some examples of these attractions include (but are not limited to):
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
- Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress (AKA the most amazingly unique show at Disney World)
- Living with the Land (trust me, if you found this REALLY boring as a kid, it’s much better as an adult. I know from experience 😂).
4) Try to visit Disney World during quieter seasons
When planning a Disney World adults only trip, the time you choose to visit can be key.
If you can, visiting during off-peak times can offer several advantages.
Quieter seasons typically mean fewer crowds, shorter wait times for attractions, and a more relaxed atmosphere throughout the parks.
This allows you to explore at your own pace, and enjoy more attractions with less hassle.
Additionally, quieter seasons often coincide with lower prices on hotels.
There is no guaranteed “quiet” time at Disney World, but the “quieter” times tend to be in January, early May and September. But make sure to research before booking your trip!
5) Enjoy more chilled dining experiences
When planning a fun and relaxing adults-only trip to Disney World, don’t forget to consider dining experiences!
While there’s no shortage of dining options at Disney World, opting for more chilled dining experiences can add to the relaxation of your trip.
And no, you don’t have to focus solely on table service restaurants for this kind of experience.
There are bars and quick-service locations that offer delicious meals without the need for reservations or extended dining times (and they can often save you a lot of money).
(Don’t worry—you can find more than just burgers and fries at quick-service dining locations!)

You can also mobile order at many locations, so you don’t have to deal with the hassle of standing in line.
6) Don’t forget spending time at Disney Springs can be great too!
Yeah , Disney World adult tickets are NOT cheap. So, if you wanted a day without paying tickets, one thing you could do is visit Disney Springs!
Whether you’re looking to shop, dine or enjoy the free entertainment, it’s a great place to visit.
Disney Springs is free to visit. It’s also the best at night, but a fun place to visit any time.
7) Remember to relax
Contrary to popular belief, your Disney World trip is not a race. It’s a vacation.
But unlike many typical (non-Disney) vacations, you may need to consciously schedule time to relax.
Whether that’s spending time at the pool each afternoon (the leisure pools at Disney World are much quieter than the feature pools).
Or, perhaps, you want to visit a spa.
Or, if you have a balcony at your hotel, maybe you just want to sit for a while and take in your surroundings.

Whatever it may be, adding some breaks to your itinerary is pretty necessary to prevent your trip from feeling extremely exhausting.
