The Price of Disney World Water Park Tickets

The Disney World Water Parks

First things first, let’s quickly go over the two water parks at Disney World …

Typhoon Lagoon

Disney’s first water park, Typhoon Lagoon, opened on June 1st, 1989.

Like any Disney park, Typhoon Lagoon tells a story. This one is about a beautiful paradise that experienced a typhoon.

From surfing lessons to lazy rivers and water slides, there is plenty to do at this water park.

Blizzard Beach

On April 1st, 1995, Disney opened their second water park in Orlando, Blizzard Beach,

This water park also has an interesting storyline. The legend is that there was an unexpected snowstorm on January 11th, 1977, so a ski lift was built, and the resort would be built around the snow.

But inevitably, the snow melted, the ski resort became waterlogged, and today, it’s known as Blizzard Beach.

Whilst this water park has areas and slides for younger kids, you can also find some more intense slides/attractions here for thrill seekers!

Which Water Park is Currently Open?

Recently, Disney has only had one water park open at a time. The pattern seems to be that Typhoon Lagoon is open in the warmer months, whereas Blizzard Beach is open in the colder months.
